Snow Cave!
I was working on some 34” pipes outside as I come across this small hole in the snow with steam coming out of it. The hole in the snow in the first picture is about the size of a soccer ball. I of course took pictures of it and then grabbed a shovel and started poking the ground with it as I walked closer until the snow stared to fall in. As you can see in the last picture the snow cave was about 6 feet around and at least 5 feet deep with about a foot or so of water in the bottom of it. A very good thing to watch for when walking around in the arctic.

Yikes
I'm always reminded of the possible drownings in these things like they warned us about in the safety classes up there. I'm glad you keep your cell phone on you but if forgot it in the truck or if you ever fell in one of these deep holes and got your phone wet...
Wish they had E.L.B.'s like snow-machiners use to give you guys.
Or something.
