Big Fire!

These flare tips are a lot bigger then I thought they were. This is a picture of GC-3 (gathering center #3) as they went to flare. It’s a lot more impressive looking in real life than in this picture. You can feel it in the ground shake as they roar. Just imagine how big that flame is compared to how big the flare tip is.

This is a replacement flare tip that is going to be installed that is similar to the ones in the above picture. I had to park my truck up next to it to show just how big it is.

I love all of your pictures Marty. They are awesome and I'm finally able to paint a picture of what it looks like in Prudhoe!

We do need to pipe that stuff. Irritates me certain powers that be fight to waste it instead of putting it to good use.

Marty those are super neat pictures. That flare is really fired up in that first picture.

I would, also, have guessed a smaller pipe end - not so much like a #88,653 torch tip. The flames must be around 100 feet in height, and 50 foot around, no? BIG FI-YAAHH!

Can I put a current weather RSS feed on your blog? For instance, I know that it's about 49 degrees there, now.

Great pictures, it's so nice seeing all that because we know that we will never get to go there. I wouldn't mind going in the summer but forget the winter.
