Right of Way!

Pedestrians come second to the wild life around here. This was a few days ago, I just got off work and was trying to drive back to camp when a few thousand caribou decided to cross the road in front of a few of us. The rules here on the North Slope are you, just stop and wait. You can’t honk your horn, throw rocks, yell, spit or shoe them off the road in any way. Of course they don’t all just cross at the same time, they meander across a few at a time and some of the babies will lie down and take a brake in the middle of the road. I wish that I could have taken a panoramic shot so you could get an idea of just how many there really were.
